Sensitization To Constitutional Obligation

St. Dominic’s College, Kanjirapally ensures that it transforms its students into responsible citizens who abide by all the law and order of the country. According to the Motto of the college, “students are being encouraged and prepared to be good citizens of the country, who are aware of the moral responsibilities and duties mentioned in the constitution". Students are prepared to guard the country, maintain the spirit of brotherhood irrespective of the differences in every aspect and to respect, value and follow all the noble ideals used in the national struggle for freedom.

Various programmes and activities are organized to ensure that students are aware of the need to protect the power, unity and integrity of the country, safeguard public property, pay our taxes with honesty promptly, protect and preserve cultural heritage sites, protect, preserve and improve the natural environment.

Programme on awareness on Indian Constitution - 2020

The Department of History and NSS unit organized various activities for keeping the young minds aware of the contents and greatness of the Indian constitution.This included a two wheeler rally to seven nearby schools and introducing the the content and special features of our constitution to the society and students. The college feels pride on the fact that the introductions and presentations are done by our own students.

Amara Gandhi Programme 2019

On October 2, 2019, the College organized the AMARA GANDHI Programme, enacting the entire life of the Father of Nation in various tableaus. All students of the college participated in the event and each class was assigned to display a particular incident in the life of Mahatma Gandhi. The objective of the event was to give the students an unforgettable review on the life of Gandhiji and Gandhian principles. A message was delivered to the whole college on the essentiality of following Gandhian principles in the present days.

Unnath Baharath Abhiyan (UBA)

UBA, the flagship program of the Ministry for Human Resource Development (MHRD) with objectives to engage the faculty and students of the institution in identifying development issues in rural areas and implementating innovative solutions as per the local needs and to leverage the knowledge base of the institution to devise processes for effective implementation of various government programs.

The College had identified 5 panchayat wards and various activities and surveys were organized in these wards as per the regulations of UBA Scheme

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, or Clean India Mission is a country-wide campaign initiated by the Government of India in 2014 to eliminate open defecation and improve solid waste management. The college conducted many activities through NSS and other associations to create a cleaner and healthier environment inside and off the campus. The "Swachh hi Seva” pledge was taken by the entire college. The campus as well as many other public places were cleaned by the students during these years. Many portions of two nearby rivers were cleaned by the NSS Volunteers.

Independence Day Celebrations

The College celebrates our independence day with pride and honour every year on August 15. National flag was hoisted by the principal and independence day message was delivered. The NSS and other associations of the college celebrate the day with various social activities as well as quizzes and other competitions.

Republic Day Celebrations

Republic day is celebrated with enchantment and honor every year on January 26 . National flag is hoisted by the principal and Republic day message was delivered. The NSS and other associations of the college celebrate the day with various activities and other competitions, which ensure a greater participation.

National Unity Day

National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) is celebrated every year on 31 October, to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. The message of the day will be delivered to the students and the pledge for National Unity will be taken by the entire members of the college. Various programmes are organized in this day by NSS and other associations

Fit India Campaign

As part of Fit India Campaign, a Walkathon was conducted in which 35 volunteers participated. They carried placards while walking a total distance of 5 kms from the college to Parathode town and back to college

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat

The initiative ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ was announced on the occasion of the 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel aims at creating an awareness of the culture, traditions and practices of different states & Union Territories which eventually lead to an enhanced understanding and bonding between the states, thereby strengthening the unity and integrity of India. Under this scheme, the college is paired with Govt College Amb, Himachal Pradesh and different activities are planned under this scheme.
